ATHENS, GA, April 7, 2007 – A team of 6 students from Stephens County High School placed 1st in the 2009 Georgia Envirothon held recently at Camp Lumpkin in Dooly County, GA.

The Georgia Envirothon is the culminating event of regional Envirothon competitions, which are sponsored by the Canon Envirothon, Chattahoochee Council – Boy Scouts of America, Chestatee-Chattachoochee RC&D Council, Georgia Forestry Commission, Georgia Agricultural Education, Georgia Association of Conservation District Supervisors, GA Dept of Natural Resources – Wildlife Resources Division, Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission, Northeast Georgia Regional Development Center, Pine Country RC&D Council, Plexus Web Creations, Soil and Water Conservation Society – Georgia Chapter, Soil Science Society of Georgia, Trout Unlimited – Georgia Chapter, Two Rivers RC&D Council, U.S.D.A.
